Tiny home communities are more than just a trend, they are becoming a movement and many people are exploring and embracing all the benefits of this peaceful way of life.

Many communities are popping up around the country to meet this demand and the beautiful state of Texas is ranked Number 2 in the U.S. as one of the best states for tiny home community living!

Let’s explore some of the best communities we have found in the great state of Texas!

Spur

We have to begin our list with the sweet little town of Spur Texas that started a major tiny house movement in July of 2014 and is recognized as the nation’s “First Tiny Home Friendly Town.”

This classic, Northwestern Texas town welcomes tiny house homeowners who are interested in living a minimalist lifestyle while taking advantage of big-city amenities like a well defined infrastructure and still enjoying the wide open spaces and old west feel.

This is the place where the pioneering spirit is still alive and well with wide open spaces and plenty of that homesteading feel.

Lake Dallas Tiny Home Village

If living within the city limits is appealing to you, then Lake Dallas Tiny Home Village is a great option, located just two blocks from the main street in the Lake Dallas Downtown District.

Within the community, they offer things like a courtyard, community garden & lawn care, and maintenance.

Their proximity to parks, a library across the street and beautiful Lake Dallas makes this a great choice for small town living at its best.

The Waters Tiny Home Community

This beautiful 55+ tiny home community, located just a short drive from Dallas and very close to Lake Lavon, is the ideal retirement spot with the perfect mix of fishing, boating, parks and/or city adventures.

The Waters Tiny Home Community offers their own fishing lake, trails, and dog park, all in a secure, gated community along with an outdoor grill area, pergola, and their own community center.

We also love the close proximity to beautiful Lake Lavon which fulfills all of your outdoor needs with hiking trails, beaches, parks for picnics, and even a marina

Truly a unique experience in tiny home living..

Majestic Views Tiny Home Community

This is another lovely gated community located about 40 miles outside of Hourston and minutes from Lake Conroe.

The best part of living in a tiny home is being in a community that offers plenty of outdoor activities, and Majestic Views doesn’t disappoint.

They have plenty of things to enjoy like a community center, workout room, heated pool, and community garden area.

Village Farm

Another tiny home community, located in the Austin area is Village Farm, located just 8 miles east of the downtown district.

They are centered around Green Gate farm, a certified organic farm that offers the surrounding area a CSA program, (community-supported agriculture) making their main focus on creating self-sustaining, eco-friendly neighborhoods.

They are a new and growing community offering dog parks, a pool, BBQ areas and, of course, community gardens.

Yet, another unique option to foster the great sense of community that supports the tiny living lifestyle.

Vintage Grace

Located east of Dallas, this  55+ tiny home community is situated on 25 acres of beautiful wooded property in Yantis, Texas.

Four ponds are located throughout the community providing residents with scenic views and fishing opportunities.

Vintage Grace currently has a community garden, a greenhouse, and several tornado shelters to support the whole community.

In the works is a community patio building and walking trails to support this quaint and nature-centered community.
